Optimized Control System for our Gravity Separators
Our upgraded high-capacity gravity separators for seed and grain will help our customers meet the demands of a modern processing facility. Processing plants are now more than ever moving towards high-tech equipment, giving operators the option of viewing KPI’s on their seed sorters while remotely controlling the machines in their facility. The new advancements enable operators to control, adjust and save settings from afar.
This is seen more frequently in many parts of the industry, and we are happy to assist customers with this transition. So, how have we improved our gravity separators?
For our advanced gravity separator, an extended PLC control system has been added, which supports the following features:
A memory system for batch recipes. This system saves machine settings for all seed batches, and allows for a quick start-up between batches, and less running-in time for new, but similar batch types.
Remote control from smartphone and tablet – the same system for settings that is available on the machine’s PLC screen is available from the operator’s smartphone or tablet. This means the machine can be operated in the same way on the smartphone and tablet as on the PLC screen on the machine itself.
A built-in modem for remote service. This allows service technicians to perform service on the machine remotely via an internet connection.
The new 9’’ PLC screen on the machine itself makes the settings easily accessible.
If you choose the advanced settings of the extended PLC system, you also have the option of adding four Belimo controlled outlets for light seed fractions, while the Belimo controlled stone outlet is standard on all gravity separators.
We also upgraded our basic solution for those who do not need advanced settings on their gravity separator – here we have equipped the machine with a PLC controlled system operated on a new 7’’ screen, as well as added the before mentioned Belimo controlled stone outlet.

The above features are available for the KA-3300, KA-4400 and KA-5500 gravity separators, which has a capacity of 7-18 t/h based on fine cleaned wheat.
The new extended PLC control system will also be available for the KA1200, KA-1500, KA-1900, KA-2200 and KA2600 separators, these however will be without the Belimo controlled stone outlet.
