Mastering Future Requirements: Our Updated Control System for Gravity Separators
At Westrup we combine our long-term experience with the purpose of constantly developing new solutions.
Within Westrup’s machine portfolio, the gravity separator plays an extraordinary role. Our newly introduced control system update offers a range of new functions allowing a more productive and flexible operation.
Facing Industrial Transition Processes
Automation and digitalization demands are growing in the industry. To support our customers in this transition, the updated control system for gravity separators can increase your workflow by enabling more productivity and flexibility. Overall, this also leads to increased product quality. Our updated automated control system is offering a range of new functions and features, including recipe management, remote control, and full connectivity.
Machine settings e.g., inclinations, rotations, and speed, can be saved according to the characteristics of the product. Usually, changing the seed/ grain batch would require long adjustment and running-in periods. Thus, reaching a stable process demands time and commitment. To increase productivity by reducing unproductive running-in periods our Recipe Management System is able to save previous machine settings. Changing the seed/grain batch now requires less manual setup, as the machine settings are saved by the recipe management. Additionally, the system provides valuable information about screen and mantle sizes for different products.
Increasing Flexibility and Processing Results
For increasing your flexibility, it is possible to operate machine settings remotely, which requires less physical attendance from the operator at the machine. Due to remote control the information from the screen mounted on the gravity separator is now available on the operator’s mobile devices. This feature is aligned with the requirements of New Work and contemporary working places. Furthermore, remote control enables us to provide service on the machines with simply an internet connection. The remote control is particularly advantageous in combination with video surveillance, as it empowers operators to view the machines’ actual performance from the control room. The top-view visibility also contributes to better processing results, as it enables a better range of vision in contrast to side-views from standing next to the machine.
Additionally, full connectivity provides interchangable data and advanced tools for analyzing data. Processes, such as changing temperatures, dynamic loads or service intervals can now be overviewed both for single machines and entire plants.
Using our Long-Term Experience
First launched in 1990, our KA gravity separators have proven their capabilities in actual operation. The machines in our KA line offer unique solutions for products with similar sizes, but various densities. Gravity separators are therefore capable of improving your product quality. Especially for fine cleaning, gravity separators are the solution to increase your product quality and therefore remain competitive in an increasingly demanding market environment. Our experience, from running gravity separators for more than 30 years in plants all over the world, enables us to constantly improve our machines and equipment.
Overall, we are convinced that the improved control and automation system contributes to more efficient and productive processing plants. Equipping your machines with the improved control unit aligns with current transitions in the industry and assists your company in facing future challenges.
