Helping to bring sustainable solutions to the Agroindustry

Meet Andrea Campbell, our new Sales Manager in Westrup Inc. in charge of heading up business development in North America together with the rest of the US team. Andrea tells her story of how she got interested agriculture and why she ended up working at Westrup Inc.

BORN INTO AGRICULTURE

Andrea grew up in rural Wisconsin on her family’s dairy farm. From an early age she took part in the daily activities of milking cows, feeding calves, doing field work, and also spent her childhood going to rodeos. Agriculture has therefore always been a huge part of her life.

My work background came earlier than most from growing up on my family’s’ farm. These experiences in agriculture are what have shaped my interests and core values: honesty, a hard-work ethic, and gratitude. I simply can’t imagine working in another field!

Her love for agriculture led her to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she received her Bachelor’s in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine and Dairy. Since graduating, her professional experiences have focused on feed processing, animal nutrition, and commodity inspection services - all of which have provided valuable insights into the many facets of the agroindustry.

Although these experiences have not been in seed conditioning or grain processing directly, they have given me the unique perspective to understand the many destinations of seed, grain and their by-products as well”.

A NEW OPPORTUNITY

When Westrup’s US Sales Manager position opened earlier this year, Andrea saw an opportunity to direct her knowledge and expertise towards the seed and grain processing industry. After a short interview process, Andrea had her first official day at Westrup in October when she visited the main office in Slagelse, Denmark for a two-week intensive training program. At Westrup, Andrea is now the newest addition to the Business Development team serving North America from our US sales office in Denver.

This is a very exciting time for us as we add to and expand our North American services. I look forward to utilizing our small-scale machines at the Denver, Colorado Test Center. This will help our customers see the potential in our machines and the potential in their product as well”.

GIVING BACK

For Andrea the agroindustry has played a huge part in her life, joining Westrup was therefore a way for her to give back to the community on a local and global level by using her professional skills to help people across globe.

Seed and grains will always be a constant in our world. Not only do they meet our needs for food, feed, power, fabric, and so much more, but they truly have the potential to keep changing the world for the better. As the world population grows and arable land decreases, it is more important than ever to have sustainable, efficient, and effective machines. I am very proud to have a small piece in that process and with Westrup I can look to the future with great optimism knowing we can achieve those very specific results. Through my role I can share and gain knowledge with people all across the globe, and hopefully in my own small way, I can help make it a better place”.
